JCCP's Activities
Human Resource Development (HRD) Programs
- HRD Programs in Japan
Our object in conducting these HRD programs is to provide Japan's advanced technology and practical experiences to personnel from downstream industry sectors in oil & gas-producing countries, while at the same time deepening their understanding of Japan. The program in Japan includes JCCP's own programs as well as programs conducted by member companies with JCCP support.
- HRD Programs Overseas
JCCP carries out programs for dispatching Japanese experts to oil & gas-producing countries upon request.
The expert services programs include both JCCP's own programs and programs carried out by member companies with JCCP support.
Technical Cooperation
- Joint Technical Cooperation Programs
The topics of these projects are selected to satisfy the needs of oil-producing countries, and include operational safety, efficiency improvement, enhancement of product quality, and improvement of economic efficiency, as well as reliability improvement of refineries and other such facilities, environmental measures and technology, and so on. Cooperative programs are also implemented to promote commercialization, for example by providing support during the preparatory stages when Japanese corporations cultivate new programs in oil-producing countries.
- International Research Cooperation Programs
JCCP holds seminars in oil-producing countries with the aim of transferring oil refining processes, catalyst technology, and other advanced research and technology development infrastructures to oil-producing countries. JCCP also invites researchers from oil-producing countries to pursue their research at universities and institutions in Japan under the Researcher Invitation Program, and sends experienced Japanese researchers to Middle East oil-producing countries over a long term, to assist in the research activities of local researchers under the High-level Researcher Dispatching Program.
International Cooperation
- International Conferences / VIP Invitations
International conferences organized by JCCP provide a forum for Japanese oil industry officials to exchange views with oil company executives who are invited to Japan. Many energy experts and representatives from oil-producing countries participate in these annual seminars and engage in discussion of issues that need to be addressed collaboratively on a global scale. JCCP also organizes the GCC-Japan Environment Symposium jointly with oil-producing countries as an occasion for the discussion of environmental issues and other such topics of common concern. JCCP also invites VIPs from oil-producing countries to Japan to exchange views and information.
- Survey on Downstream Trends in Oil-producing Countries and Comprehensive Surveys (Integrated with Survey on Downstream Trends since FY2012)
JCCP conducts surveys of the oil downstream sector in oil-producing countries, to accurately assess needs and issues in counterpart countries and implement programs that effectively respond to those needs. Comprehensive surveys are also carried out in countries where an increase in crude oil exports to Japan is expected, or where independent development is anticipated.
- Dialogue with Executives of Oil Producing Countries
JCCP executives hold direct exchanges of views with top executives in oil-producing countries, by personally visiting and holding follow-up meetings with directors and executive officers in oil-related governmental agencies and national oil companies in those countries. The JCCP members clarify the goals, content, and achievements of JCCP activities, and elicit oil downstream issues that require cooperation from JCCP, by exchanging views on the implementation of mutual cooperation.
- Participation in Exhibitions
JCCP utilizes opportunities presented by international exhibitions and fairs, to introduce and promote greater awareness of its activities among people in Japan and abroad.
- Overseas Offices
Overseas office support for on-site activities in the Middle East.
