Objective | Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: ・ Explain the key components and performance factors of rotary machinery ・ Comprehensively understand advanced Japanese inspection methodologies for rotary machinery ・ Evaluate the status of rotary machinery using condition monitoring technologies ・ Determine the required measures for enhancing the reliability, durability & operating availability of rotary machinery ・ Standardize the inspection & maintenance program for rotary machinery |
Main Topics | 1. Methodologies for the inspection & maintenance of rotary machinery 2. Inspection & maintenance activities for rotary machinery in Japan 3. New design & manufacturing process to enhance the reliability of rotary machinery 4. Modern inspection & condition monitoring technologies for rotary machinery 5. Site inspection tours to: ・Typical Japanese refinery ・Rotary machinery makers (pumps, turbines & compressors) ・Manufacturers of rotary machinery components (governors, mechanical seals and bearings) ・Japanese contractors for inspection & maintenance services 6. Qualification | Middle-rank maintenance or mechanical engineers in charge of rotary machinery inspection & maintenance, with the following qualifications. ・ Academic background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science (preferably mechanical) ・ Job experience: Five to ten years’ experience in inspection & maintenance services for rotary machinery at a refinery or chemical plant |
