Course Title 【Online Program】Advanced Technologies for Refinery Power Plants

Objective
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: 
・Understand the basic characteristics (advantages & disadvantages) of various kinds of thermal power plants
・Describe the most advanced thermal power generation process in the world at present
・Identify the key components for the power generation plants
・Carry out the conceptual study or preliminary feasibility study for remodeling the existing power plant
Main Topics
1.   Advanced technologies for thermal power plants developed by Japanese venders and engineering companies
2.   Design philosophy & manufacturing process of power plants to enhance energy consumption efficiency and operating 
      reliability
3.   Modern inspection & condition monitoring technologies
4.   Project Examples:
     ・Typical Japanese refinery with a thermal power plant fired using refinery by-products as fuel
5.    Group Discussion / Workshop by Participants: Preliminary Feasibility Study on Power Plant Revamping or Upgrading Project 
      at Refinery
Qualification
Middle to upper-rank engineers in charge of power generation units at refineries, with the following qualifications 

1. Academic background: 
・Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science (preferably mechanical or electrical)

2. Job experience:
・Ten to twenty years' experience in feasibility studies, operation, design or maintenance for the thermal power generation units
