Objective
The objective of this course is to provide participants with the ability to complete the following tasks:
・Enhancement of the performance of conventional thermal power plants
・Feasibility study of new-built or remodeled/revamped thermal power plants
Main Topics
1. Classroom Lectures:
・ Overview of the Japanese petroleum industry and individual oil companies’ approach to the electric power supply business
・General evaluation of various power generation facilities and technologies to be offered by Japanese companies
・ Japanese electrical power supply companies’ business strategies including carbon neutral and SDGs.
・ Lecture & workshop on project management for power generation EPC project
・ Technical factors affecting the competitiveness of thermal power generation facilities                                                          
     (Fuel selection, power generation process, components, combustion temperature, metal materials, etc.)

2. On-site Training (Content):
・ Typical Japanese refinery which is supplying fuel to the power generation plant (heaviest fuel, such as petroleum cokes, pitch)
・ Typical power generating company’s stand-alone thermal power plant (ACC-type thermal power generation plant of the highest thermal efficiency)
・ Industrial steam turbine and process pump manufacturer
・ GTCC manufacturing company (GTCC technology, next-generation ACC demonstration test facility including maintenance requirement)
・ Condition(Vibration) monitoring specialist company
・ Any other entities related to the performance of power plants

Qualification
Mid-level engineer in charge of power plants, satisfying the following requirements.
1. Academic background: University Degree in Engineering
 (Priority given to mechanical, chemical engineering and electric engineers)
2. Job experience:
・ 7 to 12 years for participants from Gulf countries
