Course Title Reliability Improvement and Safety Ensuring for Aging Oil Refineries

Objective
To acquire the knowledge of strategic maintenance, reliability and availability evaluations of materials, the latest NDI technologies, safeguard designs and safety management, maintenance system, etc. for aging plants.
Main Topics
Participants will acquire the following knowledge:

1. Strategic maintenance (risk-based maintenance, life cycle maintenance, 
    plant life extension programs, RAM, TPM, etc.) 
2. Aging and deterioration of materials (mechanism and prediction of deterioration,
     failure analyses, repair technologies, etc.)
3. Non-destructive inspections (focusing on the latest inspection technologies)
4. Philosophy of safeguarding, safety design and safety management
5. Maintenance system (advanced maintenance support and communication, 
    industrial IoT, etc.)
6. Case study and discussion
7. Visits to: 
    ・Refineries
    ・A non-destructive inspection company
    ・EPC companies
    ・Steel and pressure vessel manufacturers
    ・A plant maintenance company, etc.
Qualification
Inspection /maintenance engineers (excluding electricity, instrumentation, and rotary machinery engineers) having at least three years’ experience in static equipment maintenance with a university degree, or those with equivalent qualifications.
