Outline of JCCP Regular Course TR-7-24

The objective of this course is to provide participants with the ability to develop measures to enhance the reliability of rotating equipment, by having them learn about the following issues:
・Technical elements that affect the reliability of rotating machinery, quality in the design and manufacturing process of rotating machinery
・Theoretical and practical information on reliability management
・Evaluation techniques necessary for judging abnormalities in rotating machinery

1. Lecture:
・Overview of Japanese petroleum industry
・Theory and Applications of Vibration analysis
・Trouble examples and Workshop of Rotary machinery
2. Site Visit:
・Steam turbine & Process pump manufacturers
(Technical requirements on Process pumps and Steam turbines, Site visit, etc.)
・Pump Manufacturer
(Selection criteria and Maintenance practice of Pumps, High pressure water pump for Boiler, Site visit, etc.)
・Bearing manufacturer
(Selection criteria and maintenance practice of Bearings, Demonstration of Disassembly, Site visit, etc.)
・Heavy industry company
(Reliability improvement of Rotary machinery, etc.)
・Mechanical seal manufacturer 
(Structure, Selection criteria, Maintenance, etc. for Mechanical seals and Couplings, Site visit, etc.)
・Condition monitoring specialist company 
   (Principles and configuration of Condition monitoring equipment, Demonstration of condition monitoring, Site visit, etc.)
・Maintenance service contractor
(Maintenance practices for rotating equipment, Training systems for Maintenance staffs, Site visit, etc.)
・Oil-refining company
  (Introduction of efforts to improve Equipment reliability, Site visit, Information exchanges with Refinery maintenance engineers, etc.)
3. Workshop: Group discussion for enhanced reliability of Rotary machinery.

Mid-level mechanical engineers satisfying the following requirements;
1. Academic background:
・University degree in engineering (priority given to mechanical engineers)

2. Job experience: 
・In the field of maintenance management and/or reliability engineering on rotary machinery at oil 
     refinery or petrochemical plant
・3–8 years for participants from Gulf countries
・5–10 years for other participants
