Outline of JCCP Regular Course TR-16-13

To provide a wide range of knowledge regarding advanced instrumentation, including the latest DCS

Participants will be introduced to the latest field devices and control theories, and will engage in tuning practice using a simulator.

    1.Advanced field devices and control systems
        ･Introduction of the latest field instruments and DCS systems

    2.Basic study of control
        ･Control theory using CAI
        ･PID tuning practice using a wet simulator with DCS
        ･Typical control loop design in refining processes
        ･Control valve selection
        ･Emergency shutdown system
        ･Machine protection system

    3.Instrument maintenance
        ･Field instrument maintenance
        ･DCS maintenance

    4.Visits to
        ･A refinery
        ･A vendor of diagnosis systems for rotating machines
        ･Instrument factories

Engineers with a university degree and at least three years’ experience in instrumentation, or those with equivalent qualifications
